The spring 2015 Toys! option studio, taught by architecture associate professor Mitchell Squire, will host a “Make it Rain!” event at noon Wednesday, March 4, in the Lightfoot Forum. To raise awareness of the increasing student debt load, students in the studio will release 2,500 balloons filled with prizes—including more than $500 in gift cards, cash and coupons—from 17 local businesses as well as written facts about student debt. The balloons will represent the “debt ceiling” and financial pressures burdening the creative disciplines. Stop by to experience and participate in this colorful event.
